Crimestoppers

What is Crimestoppers?

Crimestoppers is an independent charity helping to fight crime. Crimestoppers runs the 0800 555 111 phone number, that you can call completely anonymously to pass on information about crime.  You can also pass on information about crime anonymously via the online Giving Information Form (https://secure.crimestoppers-uk.org/ams.form.anonymous.asp).  Whether you pass on information by phone or online, you don't have to give any personal information, calls and online forms cannot be traced and you will never be asked to be a witness. No-one ever has to know that you passed on information to Crimestoppers unless you tell them. Rewards are also available and are paid without compromising a caller's anonymity.

Why call Crimestoppers?

  • Are you worried about what might happen to you if you talk to the police?
  • Maybe you've seen or heard something about a crime but don't know what to do.
  • Are you scared to come forward and be a witness?
  • Are you afraid that someone might try to take revenge on you if they find out you've gone to the police?

If you feel like this, it's easy to think there's nothing you can do.

But would you say something if no-one knew it was you?

Then Crimestoppers is here for you.

As an independent charity, Crimestoppers provides a unique service to help you. We record no personal details about you. We simply pass on the information you have about crime whilst protecting your identity.

Just tell us what you know, not who you are.

How do I protect myself and my home against becoming a victim of crime?

Crimestoppers exists to provide people with an anonymous route to give information about crime. However, we also want to help to prevent crimes before they happen in the first place. Crimestoppers has collaborated some advice in the Crime Prevention section of their website to help you. There you can find advice to help protect your home, information about some of the latest scams and personal safety tips. Recently, ex-burglar and television star Michael Fraser write a guest article for Crimestoppers, to help you think like a burglar to protect your property (www.crimestoppers-uk.org/media-centre/guest-writers/crimestoppers-guest-articles/adopt-a-burgars-way-of-thinking-by-michael-fraser).
