Do you have a dependent adult with a learning difficulty who needs to be more independent and in a home of their own or sharing? Cube Housing Association provides shared accommodation for adults with learning disabilities.
Accessing Properties
Social Work Department would have to nominate you for the property. The Commissioning Team for Learning Disability would be your first point of contact.
Areas
We have properties in several Local Authority areas including East Dunbartonshire, Glasgow, East Renfrewshire as well as both North and South Lanarkshire.
Types of Property
Properties range from large detached houses for up to 4 people sharing to detached bungalows for 1 or 2 people. Most have adequate garden areas and are in older, popular residential locales.
You would be give your own tenancy / occupancy agreement, share with people you have things in common with and be supported to live life to the full.
Medical Adaptations
Many house have already been adapted to some degree e.g. ramps, stair lifts and wet floor showers. Any further work needed would require an Occupational Therapist referral and funding applied application, usually through Communities Scotland.
Responsibilities
Tenants would have the same rights and responsibilities as any other tenants, click here for our Tenant's Handbook. Some properties are fully or partially furnished for which the tenants would pay a service charge.
Repairs
All general repairs would be reported to our hotline or out of hours repairs service. Repair or replacement of furniture items will be dealt with by the Housing Services Team during normal hours.

Nominations
All prospective tenants would be notified to the association and an application form completed, click here to download form. Tenants will be given either a tenancy or an occupancy agreement which must be signed by the tenant, appointee or guardian before the agreed date of entry to the property.
Void Management
It will be the responsible of Social Work Department to manage the void movement in the properties.
Housing Benefit
A claim should be made for Housing Benefit as soon as possible and no later than 4 weeks after the date of entry.
