Like all of Wheatley’s recent tenant magazines, the focus in this issue is on fire safety. Tenants John and Elizabeth Brown remind people to arrange a home fire safety visit. John says a smoke alarm once saved his life, so he knows how important it is.

As always with our tenant magazines, the magazine is also packed with helpful, practical information for tenants, including:

  • volunteering opportunities
  • job opportunities with Loretto Care
  • a guaranteed job interview through the Routes into Care course
  • information on how to claim the Warm Home Discount
  • help to secure an increase in disability benefits.

Also included in this issue is a two-page spread on Cube tenants coming together at a series of community events.

The events – from Airdrie to Broomhill and Wyndford – were a really good chance for tenants to meet staff and talk about what’s important to them in a relaxed, informal setting. Some lovely, colourful photos are also included.

You can also read how young gymnast Alistair Kemley scooped a whopping seven medals at the Special Olympics this summer, and how Cube’s new 24-hour environmental service will provide round-the-clock support for communities.
