Festival gets thumbs up from tenants
A two-day community festival in Glasgow has been hailed a huge hit by Cube tenants.
‘Wyndfest’ was held in the Wyndford estate in Glasgow’s Maryhill and supported by Cube, The Maryhill Hub and Glasgow City Council.
Nearly 1000 people from the surrounding areas joined in the fun which included free fairground rides for children.
Kids enjoyed bouncy castles, teacup rides, bumper cars, bungee, trampolines and much more.
Cube tenant Michelle Aines said: “This is absolutely incredible. What a day out for all the families - and everything is free. I’m just amazed.
“It really makes you feel like you’re part of a community. A lot of people couldn’t afford a day out at the fair, but everything’s right here in the middle of the Wyndford.”
Glasgow Life, the Army, Glasgow North West Citizens Advice Bureau, The Women’s Centre, Home-Start, Scottish Fire and Rescue and Police Scotland joined Cube staff over the two days.
Cube staff helped tenants sign up for our free online services ‘My Cube’ and also showed people how they can save money on their everyday shopping by using our new MySavings scheme.
Bob Doris MSP joined Councillors Jane Morgan and Franny Scally, pictured below, at the family day out.
